What it’s (basically) all about: Emma is a maid in late 19th century England. William Jones, a proper upper class gentleman, is the former charge of her mistress. When Emma and William meet, it’s love at first sight. But can they ever be together with the rigid class structure of society and William’s princely friend Hakim standing in the way?

Nitty Gritty:

First things first- there is no English Audio track. This is a subtitles only DVD!

End credits play twice- once in Japanese and once in English.

There are scenes where characters smoke cigars and drink alcohol, and there is an ad for Scotch Whiskey on the side of a carriage.

There are no inappropriate sexual situations and no foul language or violence is used. This is a Victorian Romance, after all!

Special features-

RightStuf.com ad opens things up.

Japanese promotional commercial, US Season one trailer, character biographies, Nozomi Entertainment trailers (The Third: The Girl With the Blue Eye, Boys Be…, Maria Watches Over Us ) Special fan thanks A-Cr (literally a list of fans’ names starting at A and ending at Cr- not very exciting!)

Survey says: This series is appropriate for Young Adult audiences, though I imagine adult audiences will enjoy it more.

Personal Ad: This is a sweet anime, though the plot does move a little slowly.
